Cheap Video Projector: The light Source
Incandescent Light Source Test
| Attempts with a 300 W Incandescent | The cheapest bright light source i could find was a 300 W
Home Depot incandescent ($6 for 2). Unfortunatley in this rushed
purchase, i underestimated how much heat 300 watts was. It was like a
small toaster in a glass tube. The following details this folly Pros: -really friggin bright -tube shape Cons: -Impossible to cool in a small space -Requires more power than i wanted to expend -Actually Consume 300 Watts -Due to concentrating effect of lenses, basically turns projector --> portable death ray |

| Here's the assembly (in case your building something that requires a sh** ton of light) | ||
| Here's the quick lamp holder: (note: i only used this for short periods of time, in all probability it will fail over long term usage if not cooled) |
||
| And heres what it looked like. now picture that inside a case with electronics and cheap plastic lenses. yep, bad idea. [Never made it into projector] | ||
